Steve Miller recently stopped by Derbyshire Park to observe the free tennis lessons being offered to neighborhood youth. The program, led by seasoned tennis veterans, provides local children with an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the sport while staying active and engaged during the summer.

Steve enjoyed seeing several young players on the courts, developing new skills and building confidence under the guidance of experienced instructors. He praised the volunteers and coaches who dedicate their time to creating positive opportunities for Daytona Beach's youth.

During his visit, Steve also noted that the tennis courts have deteriorated over the years and could benefit from improvements. He believes that maintaining quality recreational facilities is important for supporting youth programs and ensuring residents have safe, accessible places to play and gather.

"Programs like this make a real difference in our community," Steve said. "Our parks should be places where families and young people can thrive, and that includes keeping our facilities in good condition."
