To the Residents of Daytona Beach Zone 3:
Strong communities require dedicated, thoughtful, and accessible leadership. Leaders who listen to their neighbors, understand the balance between growth and preservation, and work tirelessly for the public good. That is why I am proud to endorse Steve Miller for Daytona Beach City Commission, Zone 3. Zone 3 represents a vital heart of Daytona Beach, encompassing unique coastal neighborhoods, vibrant commercial corridors, and long-standing residential communities. Managing the future of Zone 3 requires a commissioner who can address crucial local issues head-on, including:
Smart Growth & Infrastructure: Ensuring redevelopment and new construction to enhance our neighborhoods without overwhelming local roads, stormwater drainage, and municipal services.
Economic Revitalization: Supporting local small businesses and attracting sustainable investment while protecting the character of our historical and residential areas.
Public Safety & Community Engagement: Fostering strong partnerships between law enforcement, first responders, and local residents to keep our streets safe and welcoming.
Fiscal Responsibility: Managing city tax dollars transparently and prioritizing investments that deliver direct results to our community.
Steve Miller brings the vision, experience, and integrity needed to tackle these challenges. Steve has consistently demonstrated a commitment to putting residents first when he served as Zone 5 City Commissioner. Steve lead the effort to permit residents to run a small business in their home. Moreover, it was during Steve Miller’s tenure as City Commissioner that witnessed that largest growth in City investment in Community Development and Leisure Services to directly benefit city residents. During Steve’s break from elective serve he continued selfless service to the community by persuading the City Commission to establish the Recreation Board focusing on programs for our area youth. And for the last four years he has led the Midtown Neighborhood Watch Association, bringing people together with city officials who can help solve their neighbor problems.
As a past Daytona Beach City Commissioner I can tell you that it does not matter whether you have the best solution to a community problem. What matters is that you have the ability to collaborate with other leaders to first find that best solution; and then more importantly persuade your colleagues that you have found the best solution. Steve Miller is such a leader that has a vast network of people of varied backgrounds and skills that he can work with to find solutions. Also, Steve has an engaging larger than life personality that will ensure that he succeeds in building partnerships with his colleagues to get things done.
Daytona Beach is moving forward, and Zone 3 needs a proven voice at City Hall. I encourage all Zone 3 voters to cast their ballot for Steve Miller in the upcoming election.
Sincerely,
George Burden
